Club 1729 – fall in love with Maths
A lot of people start disliking Maths in their school. Some of them find it boring. Some of them are really afraid of the subject. Club 1729 inspires students to fall in love with Maths or atleast not hate and not be afraid of it.
Upcoming Events
This summer camp will introduce cryptography to young minds in a fun and exciting way. It will showcase the application of Mathematics in an experimental mode.
• Making and using secret code and language
• Using numbers to code messages
• Ciphers & creating cipher wheels (Caesar / Substitution)
• Breaking codes and using Maths
We will use interesting anecdotes, stories and fun exercises to work with children on this.

Our Premise
Think and fuel their curiosity!
We make children think and fuel their curiosity! By posing interesting questions and puzzles, we make children think. Through open-ended questions, we make children discover Maths rather than rote it. We go beyond mere ‘understanding’ and help each child develop reasoning and creativity in problem solving. We help children look at the same problem through different approaches. We help them make a problem more visual. We ask them to reason the intuition.
Develop problem solving & critical thinking!
We help children to develop problem solving & critical thinking! We encourage children to make mistakes. We work with them to help them persist. We make them realize the importance of struggle and to be okay being stuck! By taking path from simple to complex, knowns to unknowns and specific to general, we help develop problem solving and critical thinking among children.
Not to be afraid of problems!
We help children to not be afraid of problems! We help children to realise that no problem is difficult to be attempted. We inspire students to develop an approach to the problem irrespective of whether they have been taught in the school or not. Isn’t that true in our lives? Don’t we solve most of the problems first time?
We are not there to replace school and tutions!
We don’t teach what they teach in school. We believe that teachers are doing their job sincerely. We don’t discuss problems based on where they appear (e.g. algebra, geometry, etc), but we encourage children to look for solutions from different areas.
